FSUE "STANDARDINFORM" was established in 2005 on the basis of: Publishing and Polygraphic Complex "Publishing of Standards", founded in 1924 under the name "Publishing of NK RKI", and All-Russian Research Institute of Classification, Terminology and Information on Standardization and Quality (VNIIKI), established in 1964.
On December 19, 2018, the Federal State Unitary Enterprises All-Russian Research Institute of Standardization and Certification in Mechanical Engineering (FSUE VNIINMASH), All-Russian Research Institute of Standardization of Defense Products and Technologies (FSUE Rosoboronstandart) and the All-Russian Research Institute for Standardization of Materials and Technologies (FGUP VNII SMT).
VNIINMASH FSUE began its activity in 1958, while its predecessor, the State Central Machine-Tool Design Bureau, was founded in 1944.
The Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronstandart traces its history back to 1968 when the All-Union Research Institute for Standardization of General Machinery (VNIISOT) was founded.
FSUE VNII SMT is the successor of the professional traditions of the All-Union Research Center for Materials and Substances of the Gosstandart of the USSR (VNIC MV) established in 1983.
FGUB "RST" is the successor of the rights and obligations of the above-mentioned organizations and continues on their historical path.
