Russia’s State Duma Simplifies Protection of Intellectual Rights

Russia’s State Duma has adopted in the first reading a bill aimed at specifying the rights and obligations of the civil turnover, as well as Rospatent, in connection with granting intellectual rights’ protection in Russia, a REGNUM IA correspondent reported.

Amendments have been made to the Civil Code and aim to harmonize Russian legislation on intellectual property with the provisions of the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement on the International Registration of Industrial Designs and the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications.
